CLASSES

All Levels combines the flow of Vinyasa  yoga with the precision of a classical practice. It is a strong class that includes the softer side of yoga and deep relaxation. As its name suggests, this class is designed to be appropriate for beginners to advanced practitioners.

Basics focuses on the fundamentals of alignment and breathing. The class moves at a slower pace to allow participants to understand, experience and strengthen the foundations of their practice. No prior yoga experience is necessary.

Community Class is an All Levels class at a special, reduced rate: Just $10!

Core Strength Vinyasa is a strong, flowing class that focuses on using the strength of deep abdominal muscles to bring yoga postures to life. This perspective of yoga, developed by Sadie Nardini, will improve your strength and understanding of your practice--and your body. It is based on a deep connection to anatomy and movement and, while the practice is safe and accessible for all levels, its faster tempo benefits from some foundation in yoga. Expect a good workout.

Gentle Yoga is a softer, deep practice that focuses on alignment, breath and the inner experience of the practice. Expect a well-rounded class of forward folds, twists, backbends, standing postures and relaxation. You will leave centered, grounded and relaxed. No prior yoga experience is necessary. Great for beginners or those requiring a mindful, gentle practice.

Intermediate is intended for those who have been practicing long enough to master basic postures and a deeper understanding of movement and anatomy. Expect to practice inversions (headstands) and more advanced postures. The poses will be broken down and introduced safely and mindfully, making this class a good next step for strong beginners.

Power Hour is a fast-paced, strong practice of flowing postures. Expect a workout. Appropriate for beginners with some yoga experience.

Prenatal Yoga is designed specifically for expectant mothers and taught by teachers trained in understanding and working with this special time of life. Open to all levels of experience, this practice will help you strengthen, open and relax into the evolution of your physical and emotional self.

Restorative Yoga uses props--blankets, straps, bolsters--to support a softer, deeper practice focused on releasing tension. Much of the class is practiced on the floor, allowing gravity and a deep exeperience of breath and muscular release to facilitate deep relaxation. This style of yoga is a wonderful addition to a more activte practice or to counter and support athletic workouts. The long-held postures and deep releases help to restore and revitalize the body and quiet the mind. Appropriate for all levels.

Yoga for Parkinson's Disease is specially designed to increase flexibility, strength and balance, and improve posture and gait in PD patients. By using powerful breathing, meditation and relaxation techniques, students learn to fill in the gaps of unconscious movement with yoga's mindful, conscious awareness. The class is supported by the Parkinson Council and taught by Yoga Therapist Theresa Conroy. Registration and doctor's permission required. This class is held in sessions. Check our schedule page for the date of the next class.

Yoga for Stress Relief is a gentle, soft practice that focuses on the use of the breath to ease into postures with grace and attention to detail.
